Rules and Guidelines

At Shaheen Public School, we strive to create a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for all students. To achieve this, we have established the following rules and guidelines:

Attendance and Punctuality

  • Students must maintain at least 75% attendance to be promoted to the next class.
  • Repeated late arrival may result in disciplinary action.
  • Leave of absence must be submitted in writing; long absence without information may lead to cancellation of admission.
  • Students will not be permitted to leave the school premises during school hours, except in cases of a serious and verified medical emergency.
    Routine appointments, personal reasons, or family functions will not be considered valid reasons for early departure. Parents are requested to schedule all appointments outside school hours.

Uniform and Grooming

  • Students must wear the proper, neat and clean school uniform exactly as per the timetable.
  • Tracksuit is permitted only on days when Games/Sports periods are scheduled, and not on any other day.
  • Only black shoes are permitted as part of the school uniform. No coloured, designer, or casual footwear is allowed
  • During winters, students must wear the prescribed winter uniform only. Casual jackets, hoodies, sweaters, caps, or any non-uniform clothing will not be allowed under any circumstances.
  • The School ID Card is mandatory and must be worn by the student every day for safety and identification purposes.
  • Students must maintain proper personal grooming, including clean and trimmed nails at all times.
  • Boys must maintain a proper and decent haircut at all times. Fancy hairstyles are strictly prohibited.
  • Girls: School hijab or black hijab is mandatory. For student who prefer abaya, only black abaya is permissible. Mehndi (except for cultural occasions), nail polish, rings, fancy accessories are strictly prohibited. If found, the item will be confiscated.

Books and Belongings

  • Students must bring prescribed books, notebooks, and stationery as per the timetable.
  • The School Diary is compulsory for every student to buy and must be carried to school every day. Parents should check and sign the diary regularly for notices, homework, and communication from teachers.
  • The school is not responsible for loss of personal belongings, jewellery, gadgets, or money brought by students.
  • Lunch boxes will not be accepted from outsiders (parents/relatives) under any circumstances. Students must bring their own healthy tiffin/lunch box with them when they arrive at school.

Prohibition of Electronic Items

  • Mobile phones, smartwatches, tablets, earphones, cameras or any electronic devices are strictly prohibited.
  • If found, the item will be confiscated and returned only at the end of the academic year.

School Time, Gate Closure, Discipline and Behaviour Policy

  • Students must reach school on time as per the schedule notified by the school.
  • The school gate will remain open only for 10 minutes after the reporting time.
  • After the gate is closed, no student will be allowed to enter the school premises, regardless of the reason.
  • Parents are strictly advised to ensure timely arrival of their ward to avoid loss of attendance, classwork, and disciplinary consequences
  • Appointments with dentists, doctors, or any other professionals must be schedules outside school hours. Request for early leave on such grounds will not be entertained under any circumstances
  • Students must follow classroom and school discipline at all times, including during assembly, sports, and dispersal.
  • Shouting, loud talking or whistling is not allowed in the school premises.
  • Care must be taken of all school property. Damage done should be reported at once to the class teacher or the coordinator. Any damage caused will have to be compensated by the parent/guardian of the student(s) concerned.    
  • Any act of bullying, violence, misconduct, vandalism, or use of abusive language will lead to strict disciplinary action or suspension.

Homework & Academic Responsibility

  • Students are expected to complete homework regularly and participate actively in class.
  • Parents must ensure that the child studies regularly and attends tests and examinations on scheduled dates.

Participation in School Activities

  • Participation in school functions, competitions, excursions, and celebrations may be mandatory unless exempted for health reasons.
  • Parents are requested to encourage their children to take part wholeheartedly.

Health & Medical Responsibility

  • Parents must inform the school about any medical condition, allergies, or medication required by the child.
  • Students must not attend school when suffering from infectious diseases.

Communication with School

  • Parents should update the school immediately if there is a change in address, contact number, or guardianship.
  • Parents must attend PTMs (Parent–Teacher Meetings) regularly to stay informed about their ward’s progress.
  • Discussions with teachers during class hours are not permitted; appointments should be taken in advance.

School Property

  • Damage to school property, intentionally or accidentally, will have to be compensated by the parents.
  • Library: If a book is lost or disfigured by a student, he/she will have to pay the cost as per school rules.
  • Students should keep classrooms, washrooms, and campus areas clean.

Transport Rules (If Applicable)

  • The school does not provide any transportation facility for students.
  • If a parent arranges private transport (van, auto, cab, rickshaw, etc.) for their child, it is done entirely at the parent’s own risk and responsibility.
  • The school shall not be responsible or liable for the safety, punctuality, behaviour, or any incident/accident occurring during travel in privately arranged transport.
  • Parents whose ward uses any private transport must submit a written application to the school office clearly mentioning the vehicle/van number, driver’s name, and driver’s contact number.
  • This information must be updated immediately if there is any change in the vehicle or driver.

Safety Regulations

  • Parents must ensure that the child is picked up on time after school.
  • No child will be handed over to an unknown person without written authority from parents.

Compliance with Notices & Circulars

  • Parents must regularly check school diaries, WhatsApp groups, and school circulars for updates.
  • Failure to follow instructions may affect the student’s participation in activities or academics.
